PANEL: Hiro Pendragon (RL: Ron
Blechman, Involve), Joel Greenburg (ESC), Jared Freedman (Code4), Spin
Martin, Aimee Weber (AWA) - Engagement Metrics: Simple
numbers aren't enough to judge ROI on metaverse investments. A new, and infinitely-arguable field of heuristic metrics,
interpreted as quanta for engagement, is emerging in response.
Sun Reception - Adrienne Arliss spins
50s-90s Rock and Request at SunIsland's brand new
nightclub!
WEDNESDAY 9/19
ALL DAY
SL Update Day followed by rolling restarts in the afternoon. No show today,

Join sponsors, speakers and fellow
attendees -- along with a cadre of vampires, some dragons, ogres, and elves
-- for 2007's second Rolling Restart Ball in the Cathedral. Costumes?

Best Practices in Boston. His topic: the challenges of Geographically
Distributed Development (GDD) and possible solutions in immersive
collaboration platforms.

increasingly intelligent bots are becoming a backbone enabling technology for
a host of metaverse apps and services, from enhanced asset-creation, to
remote-management, leveraged social networking, search and more.
Julian Lombardi, Croquet Consortium - Croquet is an astonishing opensource metaverse platform,
offering features arguably a generation or two beyond current
commercially-available/accessible alternatives. One of six key architects of
Croquet -- now also Chairman of the Board of the Croquet Consortium (as well
as Assistant VP of Academic Services and Technology Support, and a Senior
Research Scholar with Duke's Information Science/Studies program), professor
Lombardi will give us the lowdown on this powerful and increasingly
accessible tool, and the culture growing up around it.
EOLUS McMillan - EOLUS island is the most advanced experiment in SL-to-RL
integration yet, comprising a 3D user interface to environmental control,
ERP, v-commerce and other applications. Hear its chief architect describe the
technologies and techniques, and join us later at 3:30 PM for a guided tour
of EOLUSIsland.
